A-Mazing: Active Meditation & Self Awareness Journey

  • AHHA Center 200 E John Rowan Blvd Bardstown United States (map)

This A-Mazing workshop will teach you to practice active meditation that you can take anywhere and use anytime.

We will start the class with a group session, learning what self awareness is and how we can see ourselves more clearly. Then we will start our journey with a maze through our space. This journey; as with life, will be self guided. There will be several paths, crossroads, turns and stops. Each room will have a prompt, cue, quote, phrase or question for you to reflect upon. Once you are through this maze we will meet once again to share and close with a meditation. This workshop will give you questions to  journal long after the workshop and many other tools to practice, understanding active meditation that you do anywhere and use anytime.

How aware are you?

Internal self-awareness – shows how we see our own values, passions, aspirations, fit with our environment, reactions (including thoughts, feelings, behaviors, strengths, and weaknesses), and impact on others.

External self-awareness - means understanding how other people view us, in terms of those same factors listed above.  Self-knowledge is not only about how you see yourself, but also being aware of how you come across to others.  Only when you are self-aware can you form a correct, complete image of who you are.

Emotional Awareness - recognizing your emotions and the effects they have on yourself and others.

Accurate Self-Assessment - seeing your strengths and limits from an unbiased point of view.

Self-Confidence - having a powerful sense of self-worth and competency of yourself that cannot be easily shaken by your circumstances.

When you are balancing work, school, family, and a social life, it can sometimes feel difficult and unimportant to be available for yourself.

It is important to address feelings when they come up, so they do not progress into burnout, stress, or weigh you down.  Check in with yourself on a regular basis so you can understand the root of your discomfort and remind yourself of your strengths, personal values, and goals.  Practicing self-reflection and asking self-discovery questions can be an empowering way to challenge your beliefs, gain clarity on your life’s path, and apply creative solutions to the challenges you face.
